With World of Warcraft’s newest playable race and class just one week away, Blizzard is bringing the hype with a flurry of fresh promos and blog posts. Here’s a round-up of some of the best Blizzard content to catch up on while you wait for November 15th.
Dragonflight Legacies: Chapter Three
On Tuesday, Blizzard dropped the final chapter of the Dragonflight Legacies video series in their gorgeous, signature 2.5D art style. This final chapter introduces the true origin and nature of the Dracthyr, our villains the Primalists and Raszageth the Storm Eater, and of course Neltharion’s descent into madness.
I’ve been absolutely hooked on Blizzard’s promotional artbook-style cinematics ever since Warbringers: Jaina released over four years ago with its hauntingly beautiful sea shanty. The Dragonflight Legacies cinematics have done a tremendous job at establishing the Dragonflight story, and I can’t wait to start my journey on November 28th.
In case you somehow missed them, be sure of course to check out Dragonflight Legacies Chapter One and Chapter Two.
Dracthyr Evoker Twitter Teaser: Customization
The official World of Warcraft Twitter account shared this short teaser video providing an overview of the Dracthyr customization options available at character creation, as well as how armour appearances work for Dracthyr characters.
Dracthyr Evokers will of course playable as both Alliance and Horde, and have an absolutely mind-blowing amount of options available at character creation. One unique aspect to the Dracthyr Evoker is that each character will have a Visage form to accompany their Dracthyr form, essentially providing you with two characters to customize at character creation. Body 1 Dracthyr characters will have a Visage form with the distinct appearance of a Blood Elf, while Body 2 Dracthyr have a Human-like Visage form with some elf-like features.
As I’ve covered Tips and Tricks section of the Devastation Guide, don’t forget to turn on the toggleable class ability Chosen Visage when you start leveling your own Dracthyr Evoker. We’re told that wearing a Visage has its perks, and one of them is increased out-of-combat health regeneration, which is quite the boon in open world and dungeons.
Preview: Scale Up with the New Dracthyr Evoker
In addition to the Twitter teaser, Blizzard released a full-length blog post previewing the Dracthyr Evoker for new players, covering some quick facts of the race-class combo, restrictions around character creation, and another look at the variety of customization options available.
Blizzard continues by highlighting the Evoker’s mastery of the magic of the five dragonflights, with Devastation specializing in Red and Blue spells, along with Preservation’s preference for Green and Bronze. Empower spells are also briefly touched on, which I cover in additional detail in this section of my Devastation Guide. Blizzard wraps up by covering some of the class’s basic spells, along with a quick summary of Evoker’s primary resource Essence. You can find both of these aspects covered in more detail in the Core Spells and Abilities overview of my Devastation Guide.
Dragonflight: Awaken in the Forbidden Reach
Last but not least, Blizzard shared a teaser post for the Forbidden Reach, which is where you will begin your Dracthyr’s journey on November 15th.
The post features a variety of gorgeous stills from the zone, as well as as preview of the new zone music composed by Glenn Stafford, featuring triumphant, regal horns accompanied by a sense of natural mystery in the winds.
The mystery of the Dracthyr’s magical stasis is at the forefront of this adventure, along with the looming threat of Raszageth and the Primalists, and the usual assortment of cute creatures in tow.
Look forward to exploring the Forbidden Reach yourselves starting on November 15th, and be sure to check out my Devastation Evoker Guide for everything you need to know to take on World of Warcraft’s newest class, the Dracthyr Evoker.
